MAP Testing This guide describes the NWEA (Northwest Evaluation Association) MAP (Measures of Academic Progress) assessment. The MAP assessment is used at Indian Valley to assess your child’s performance and progress. The MAP test is a computerized adaptive test that tailors the test to a student’s achievement level based on the abilities of each individual student. The computerized system adjusts the difficulty level of the questions based on the pattern of correct and incorrect answers. When a student answers a question correctly, the test will offer a slightly more difficult question. If a student answers questions incorrectly, the test will offer a slightly easier question. At Indian Valley Middle School, students in grades 6 – 8 participate in the MAP assessment in reading, math, and science in the fall, winter, and spring. While no single test can give a full picture of your child’s knowledge and skills, the MAP assessment provides information to better understand the instructional needs of each student in these curriculum areas.
Winter MAP TESTING IS November 14-22, 2019 Spring MAP TESTING is March 10-17, 2020 Reading and understanding your child's MAP Student Progress Report can be difficult. Please email or call the middle school anytime and set up an appointment with Mrs. Swaldo who would be happy to help!
